We celebrated the gorgeous weather today by going to the park, and rambling along the trails. It was just a perfect activity for today! Have a happy weekend, all!
The east coast had a night of it! This morning, there were bits and pieces of embattled branches, leaves and even some lawn furniture all over the landscape. I pray for those who lost in mother nature's fury...
Today was a busy day with too many deadlines, too much fluorescent lighting and not enough daydreaming. I wish I could have sat in the grass for only an hour or so, and soaked up the lovely afternoon. Maybe tomorrow...
I am overtired and need serious sleep. I even deleted my first picture of a barbed wire fence to set off the frill of all my floral shots. I can only hope that this guy is resting for the both of us. Busy is good, but so is 12 hours of sleep! Happy Tuesday!
I am at my parents house, so I have a whole new set of scenery to shoot today. I liked the color coordination of this jug and the hard woods in the kitchen. I am thinking about Photo-documenting this house in the summer, since it is where I grew up, and I never, never want to forget it.
This is the Baptismal gown that has been in my family since the 1930's. My aunt wore it. My mom wore it. My sisters and brother wore it. I wore it. My nieces and nephew wore it, and today, my baby, Gil wore it.
Today, we slept little and drove our little hearts out all the way to NY. This was in West Virginia, at a rest stop on I-81. We were getting there...almost, almost!
I found this necklace a few years ago on a scavenge of my parents old brick house. I occasionally don them to brighten up my consistently black attire. I have no idea who they belonged to, but I am glad I found 'em!
Memorial Gardens was closed today to my dismay, but I got plenty of pics under the canopy of old trees and sunshine just outside the gate. I wanted to share this one because it was of decent quality, and was a different take on the colorful petals and landscapes I usually plague my page with. Happy Monday, all!
We went for Korean Barbecue at a friends house, and they just so happened to have a bunch of fruit sitting by an accent light. Lucky me, on all accounts!
I caught this at a stop light this morning and I completely thought this would look better black and white. I was wrong. The watercolor sky was too delicate and pretty to wash out. The sun is getting ready to blast above the clouds and provide Carolina with a wonderful weekend welcome!
These flowers (in my neighbor's yard) are so soft and delicate and dense in their clusters. To me, they look like little souls moving toward bodies to live, love and exude.
Today was one of those days that I had great expectations for a mind blowing shot for my blog. It didn't happen. What I got were a few "okay" shots. This one stood out for it's nice coloration, and I resisted posting it at first because I already have a Japanese Maple picture. Oh well, here you go (again). It's nice though, isn't it??
I don't have a bad memory about a strawberry. I like the taste, the color and even the size. Instead of heading outside with my face in the lens, I brought something from the outside in, and took some silly pictures today. I leave you not with a strawberry quote, but a quote from a (Darryl) Strawberry:
"We were going to win a lot of championships together."
I have dreamt of getting a shot like this. My, am I lucky! I didn't yet get a good shot all day, and the grass was just mowed...all but a little patch, so I could get my picture. I hope you all had a great and wonderful Wednesday. I did!
It didn't just rain here last night, and there wasn't just a little wind. Power lines were down, interstates closed and trees were snapped like twigs. Someone got sleep, however, and it wasn't me or Nate.
We took Gil for his first beach trip today at the Isle of Palms. The weather is perfect for this time of year. Our little ocean visit was followed up by a nap by the Shephard three, with the windows wide open and the sound of the ocean singing a noon time lullaby.
