Day 71

This bud's for you

After beautiful weather last week, we were living in muck, rain and coldness this week. Now that it's letting up, the trees are quietly taking flight if you look really close. If you turn your ear to the sky, the sound of geese has been replaced by the robin's song.

Day 70

Mud puddles give the world more trees!

Day 69

Say what?

Good to know, I guess..."spontaneou.." BAM! You can't say that you never saw it coming.

Day 68

"If all the raindrops

were lemondrops and gumdrops

oh what a world it would be!"

Day 67

Family outing

We all packed up and ran out for a few supplies to carry us through the week. I talked Nate into coming, so I had fun because I was with my family.

Saturday, March 26, 2011

Day 66

Moshimoshi
It's rainy, and it's wet today, which is actually a perfect respite from the warm and sunny weather that we have been spoiled with. I thought that today was a good day to introduce you to the Japanese Maple in our front yard. The leaves are just babies this week, but soon will be full size geishas!

Day 65

"And it's two bare feet in the dashboard,
young love and an old Ford."
- Kenny Chesney from Summertime

Day 64

Wisteria
"Straight I walked to the trellis vine. Wisteria touched a lifted nostril:
Feelings of beauty diffused, to entwine my spirit with June's own aura"
- Ann McGough

Day 63

Dynamic Sky
I told you before that I could take a sky picture almost every day, but I try not to. Today, I couldn't keep this to myself. May your hope and joy be bursting from your soul, just like this sun is from behind the clouds.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Day 62

Keeping watch
A little bird perched on a street sign sat patiently before he flew away. Perhaps he flew far, perhaps he flew close. No matter, I bet he's happy the weather is getting better everyday too!

Monday, March 21, 2011

Day 61

Morning remnants
The last of my morning snack and coffee just so happened to chromatically coordinate, so I just had to show you. I just had to!

Sunday, March 20, 2011

Day 60

Spring is here
Every year, I take pictures of these blooms in my back yard because I am excited about the warmer weather and new found colors outside. My calendar and the early blooms tell me it's Spring. I welcome it with open arms and many, many sneezes!

Day 59

'
School of Lizardry
" Precisely, the least, the softest, the lightest, a lizard's rustling, a breath, a flash, a moment - a little makes the way of the best happiness." ~nietzche

Day 58

Sometimes
the shadows cast by the sun are just as lovely as the object that they are mimicking.

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Day 57

Morning commute
This beautiful scene was waiting for me when I pulled into work this morning. Some days I get even luckier when I see a family of deer passing through.

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Day 56

Harrisburg Town Hall
It is a good day if I see this place. It means that I am headed to workout. Our Y is actually here. Too bad we don't live in the same county, we could vote, give blood, file a compliant and run on the treadmill. I'll stick to the treadmill.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Day 55

Talking Hands
Your hands say so much about you. They reveal your age, your gender, perhaps what you do. They hold, they write and they speak, they touch. They are pretty darn...handy!

Monday, March 14, 2011

Day 54

It's that time again
Baseball season is upon us, and there is nothing I can do to stop the next 6 months of pure baseball blasting through the tv six out of seven nights a week. Next year, I am sure Gil will learn all kinds of new words from Dad. I can't wait.

Sunday, March 13, 2011

Day 53

Drawer pulls
Today I played with angles and focus. This is a detail in Gil's room that helps make it special. These are much like The Dude's rug...they tie the room together.

Saturday, March 12, 2011

Day 52

A horse is a horse...
Unless of course, it's made of wood.

Friday, March 11, 2011

Day 51

Soft Pallet
Ususally I see pallets stacked to the sky in a harshly lit warehouse, piled with commodity as far as the eye can see. This morning, the gentle light blanketed this pair of pallets in a sweet and peaceful way.

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Day 50

Jesus Saves
It's a simple statement on a sign at a roadside church. Amen.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Day 49

Ballet Class
Ballerinas, to me, seem like people of legend. Well, I guess I found my Bigfoot - or little feet as it may be. The post bothers me in the middle of the picture, but I just couldn't pass up a picture like this. Enjoy!

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

Day 48

Locker Room
I had to be sneaky about this because cameras are strictly forbidden in the gym, but luckily I break the rules. The lighting was fluorescent and harsh, and it shows!

Monday, March 7, 2011

Day 46

Water, water everywhere
Today I celebrate water. We got much needed rain this weekend, we got our leaky shower fixed, and I have vowed to drink more of it. Already I feel better, now that the water is in all the right places.

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Day 45

Bradford Pear blooms
I got this as soon as the sun came up in order to get the muted sky as the back drop to create a (sort of) monochromatic look. Enjoy your Sunday!

Saturday, March 5, 2011

Day 44

An afternoon with friends
Our trip to the mountains was cancelled due to inclement weather, so we met some friends for lunch. We had a lovely time with Craig and Patron.

Friday, March 4, 2011

Day 43

Cows in the meadow
Meet my neighbors down the road (from my subdivision). I'd love to take shots of the rooster that we hear announce each morning when the Charlotte weather allows an open window or two. If only I could find him...

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Day 42

Old signs downtown
Concord, NC is a quintessential southern town with a quaint and bustling downtown area. I went there today and found all kinds of buildings, trees and moments to capture all year long.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Day 41

Fog Lifting
This pond caught my eye this morning because of the fog lifting from the water. I promise I actually got a good shot of it, but I liked the colors and composition of this picture better. Happy Wednesday!

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Day 40

These boots were made for walkin'
These are my favorite boots, ever. They always will be. I am feverishly rummaging through (what fits me) in my closet and wearing all my winter favs before the southern heat overcomes me and my power bill. I made this exposure darker becuase I thought it looked better on the folds. For the record, I am channeling my inner Lindsey Reagan Thorne with the toe turn.
