Day 222

Round things...
I have been getting acquainted with my manual camera lately, and even went as far as to load it with film and snap a few shots. It's exciting. It's like seeing an old friend. I have had this camera for 17 years!? It has been put away for a long time, but never far. It'll be fun to work together again!

Day 221

Portraits of a nine ten month old
Oh! This kid is crawling, picking, standing, laughing, playing AND cutting teeth! I tried to get some shots of Gil and his dad playing, but they were all a blur, just like the last ten months in our house! Have a happy Monday!

Day 220

Rock You Like a Hurricane
About 4 hours East of us, Irene dug up the shore line this morning. There is probably no correlation, but our twilight this weekend so far has been marvelous, and I think it is from the storms. I also took these before I knew the other sky shots were retrievable, but as you see, last night was quite a view!

Day 219

Spectacular views
I noticed that the porch looked a little bright from our living room, so I ventured outside, and this is what I saw. wow! Oddly, I tried to download these, and my computer wasn't showing them there.  Is Mercury in retrograde?? I scrambled to get more pictures at the 11th hour, which weren't good. I went to upload them, and lo and behold, these appeared. I am so glad I get to share them with you!

Day 216

It was an industrial kind of day...

Day 215

Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,
But only one mother the wide world over.

Day 214

The pool at night, representative of this time
I drove by the pool last night, and the light hitting the water of glass caught my eye. This is exactly what's going on in the later August days. Summer things are winding down, are quiet. The bright summer colors and presence of wet hair is gone, and the sounds of activity in the distance is hushed. School will start soon as will the apple peeling and chili prep. Hooo-ray! My oh my, I love this time of year...

Day 213

Beth's got a new toy...
I downloaded Paint.net, which is now apparently Gimp, a photo editing tool. It has been years since I have deftly typed away and edited in Photoshop, or a similar program. I am just getting my feet wet, and decided to do a study. I am still so partial to good old black and white photos. I hope you all had a nice weekend, friends!
