Day 192

A Sunday to savor
It's still 800% humid here, but it was a little "cooler" today. We met some friends for an early dinner, then strolled around Dilworth for a few hours to work off our meal, and of course, to enjoy one another. It was one of those days that I am thankful to have experienced, but I am so very much looking forward to fall weather.

Day 190

Sushi Day Date
For Nate's last Friday off for the summer, we had a date! I have been meaning to get him here the whole time he's lived in Charlotte, and finally today, we made the pilgrimage for sushi, just the two of us! Happy Friday, all!

Day 188

Good morning America how are you?
Don't you know me I'm your native son,
I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans,
I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done.

Day 187

The warms and the cools, the rights and the wrongs

I just love the brown field flowers in the first few pictures, but the art school student  in me can't help but to notice the dark green slivers of forest in the corner of all of them. I cropped, re-worked, but I decide to go with the original scene. Stick it, Lamar Dodd! (Not really)

My batteries took the rest of the day off as well, so I only had a handful of shots to pick from. I liked the sky picture a lot, which is going to be part of a larger project I have yet to start. I decided also to post my feet skating over the sidewalk from this morning as well. My mother must be so sore today!

Lastly, my waiting is over. At least for a few of the things from yesterday. Boy made it through open heart surgery and is recovering well. Sally, the Guinea Pig had no broken bones from the weekend, and my meeting went off without a hitch. My niece, however, is still taking cover in the warmth of the womb for now...

Day 186

The day of waiting
Today I am waiting, with and for people. I am waiting for my niece to enter the world. I am waiting to hear how a little boy's heart surgery went. I am waiting for a Guinea Pig's prognosis, and I am waiting to go to a meeting. Since I am waiting and waiting, I took some pictures, and it appears that everything else is in a holding pattern as well. (How could you not be in this heat?) As for my friend in the last picture, the wait was a little too long.
